Most children of the that we support have lived and/or worked at Steung Meanchey Garbage Dump before. This Garbage Dump was home and work place for thousands of people until mid 2009. Since that a new Garbage Dump has replaced the old one. The new Garbage Dump is further outside Phnom Penh (near Choeng Ek Killing Fields). Even very young children work on the dump collecting garbage that is sold to merchants around the dump area. In our video you can see Sebastian's visit of the dump in early 2009.
